Mike and Gill Dixon offer you a very high standard of accommodation in one of Ambleside's most peaceful locations, near the beautiful Stockghyll waterfalls. Even so, it is still only 5 minute's walk from the amenities of the town centre.
Mike and Gill are real 'locals' and are happy to share with you their extensive local knowledge on what to see and do.
The Howes has private parking and a garden for guests' use with wonderful views over Ambleside and the surrounding fells.
A favourite feature for regulars is the serving of breakfast in your room, either at table or in bed. On fine mornings, breakfast can also be taken in the beautifully kept terraced garden.
A full English breakfast menu is available, with lighter or vegetarian alternatives.


There are spacious ground floor twin and double bedrooms which are tastefully furnished and decorated, all rooms having en-suite facilities, TV (including Sky), tea/coffee making and hairdryers.
