  Rydal Bed & Breakfast
Bed & Breakfast in an historic Lake District house
White Moss House White Moss is an elegant and spacious house set in its own grounds between Grasmere and Ambleside. It has historic literary connections, having been bought by William Wordsworth for his son. The family lived there until the 1930s.

The house is situated in the heart of Wordsworth's country, being less than a mile from his homes at Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount. The poet frequently trod the footpaths surrounding the house and the lovely Rydal Water close by.

Comfortable lounges, log fires, oak panelling, books and the personal care and attention of the proprietors, Peter and Sue Dixon, make White Moss a very special place to stay.

Grasmere is 2 miles away and has shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, while the many amenities of Ambleside are just 2 miles in the other direction.

The accommodation, in five bedrooms, is luxurious and of the highest standard, with fine sheets, and toiletries from "Pure Lakes" - eco friendly and made in Grasmere.

Using only the best local suppliers, and local organic produce wherever possible, the White Moss Breakfast is cooked for you by Master Chef of Great Britain, Peter Dixon.
