The extensive grounds include woodland, a tarn and extensive gardens. This is a unique property with spacious public rooms and excellent informal hospitality.

A charming Bed and Breakfast property, in a convenient town centre location, with FREE OFF ROAD PARKING for each room. The beautiful waters of Windermere, Rydal and Grasmere are within easy walking distance as are the historic homes of Wordsworth, Ruskin and Beatrix Potter. Each room has been individually styled – As the B&B has been created from an original Lakeland Stone townhouse, so typical of Ambleside, no room is the same shape or size, but we hope that each one is as comfortable, attractive and pleasing as the next! All rooms have either a double or king sized bed, newly refurbished en-suite shower room and flat screen LCD TV.

OLD VICARAGE Town centre
The Old Vicarage is a family-run 15 bedroom property which goes beyond ‘normal’ bed and breakfast. With our indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub and sauna you’ll be relaxing whatever the weather, and if the sun is shining you can sit at our extensive terrace area and take in the fell views. Coffee and a good book are optional [we also have wi-fi], while you banish your husband / wife / partner / friend to explore Ambleside town centre which is only 2 minutes walk away. The 15 ensuite rooms are all four star rated and vary in size, style and views. Our newer rooms have a contemporary slant, while we still cater for the traditionalists among you in our spacious Victorian House.

Just outside Ambleside on the Rydal Road, Crow How Country House is peacefully set in its own beautiful grounds, alongside Rydal Farm. Nestling in a stunning rural setting in the historic Rydal Valley this grand Victorian building was built as a farm house in 1848 from the stones of ancient Rydal Hall, before being converted into a Country House Hotel in the early 1930’s. The house offers quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation in spacious surroundings.
The house is open all year. Nine rooms are available – 8 doubles and one twin/triple, all with good views of the surrounding valley and fells. All bedrooms have en suite facilities, colour televisions and hospitality trays.

Park House is a fine Victorian residence which has been carefully upgraded and modernised. It is warm, comfortable and has elegant interiors decorated to a high standard. The house is in an ideal position in the town centre, with uninterrupted views across parkland to the fells beyond. It is only 2 minutes walk from buses, shops, pubs and cafés. There is private parking or parking by permit supplied. We have four en-suite double rooms each with tasteful luxury furnishings, also two single rooms. All rooms are fully equipped for the comfort of our guests, including colour tv, DVD player, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, hairdryers, and wireless broadband connection. Children over fifteen years old are welcome
MELROSE Town centre
Melrose is just 10 minutes walk from Lake Windermere with its steamer cruises and water leisure activities and is the starting point for many popular walks and hikes. We are conveniently located for transport links and within walking distance of the many restaurants, bars and cafes in Ambleside. There are eight stylish rooms at Melrose, some with fell views. All have smart flat screen TVs, well stocked hospitality trays, and en-suite bathrooms (single room has private bathroom) with luxury toiletries. Free WiFi is available throughout the Guest House. Free parking is available for all rooms which is a two minute walk from the Guest House. We are also able to provide secure storage for bikes and hard standing for motor bikes. A home cooked full Cumbrian or vegetarian breakfast is provided including local jams and relishes. Lighter options are available for those who prefer. Special diets are catered for. Regret we unable to accommodate children under the age of 12 or pets.

2 Cambridge Villas is a lovely, friendly bed and breakfast in the centre of Ambleside where you’ll find a warm welcome and comfortable accommodation.  You’ll find us on Church Street, a quiet road close to shops, restaurants and cafés.  Also, very handy for the bus stop and amazing walks in the fells!  We have 5 beautiful en-suite rooms all with individual character, bespoke furnishings and most importantly comfy beds for a good night’s sleep!   We have twin, double and family rooms.  Breakfast is a full English hearty affair with vegetarian, vegan and healthy options available using local produce wherever possible.  Walkers and cyclists benefit from drying facilities and bike storage. Free parking close by.  Free Wi-Fi. Group bookings welcome, as are children of all ages. Single occupancy available. Sorry but no pets.  Open almost all year except for Christmas and January to mid-February.
