AMBLESIDE & DISTRICT PROBUS CLUB
Ambleside & District Probus Club is the local Branch of what is an international network of such branches for retired or semi-retired professional and business men.

The aim of the Club is to promote members’ social and intellectual well-being through congenial activities and companionship. Membership is open to professional and business men aged fifty-five and over, resident within twelve miles of Ambleside and who have retired or semi-retired from their normal occupation.

The Club meets at 11.00 am on the first and third Monday in each month at the Ambleside Salutation Hotel, situated in the centre of this beautiful village in the heart of the Lake District. Morning coffee is available at all meetings and members enjoy a luncheon on the fourth Monday. Between coffee and lunch at those meetings there is usually a guest or member speaking on a wide range of interesting topics.

Annually there is a Luncheon with the Ladies at The Goldrill Hotel in Grasmere when members are accompanied by their partners and other guests and occasional visits to local businesses and other places of interest are organised.

New members are always welcome as are members of other Probus Clubs who may be on holiday or otherwise visiting this beautiful part of the country.
